As they say “All good things must come to an end.” Unfortunately that also includes vacations. We did most of our packing up Saturday evening but got up early Sunday morning to finish packing, loading the truck, and cleaning up after ourselves in the cottage.

On the way home we stopped at Grand-Pré. Our original intent was to tour the area around the church for the first time since shortly after we were married in 1972. However, we obviously forgot how much walking was involved for that to happen so we opted instead to let Annabelle out of the cat carrier for a bit of exercise then continue on our way.

Next stop was at the Cross Roads Restaurant in Brooklyn just outside Windsor, for a light lunch. Last time we were in that restaurant was probably 25 years ago when we were trucking together.

The rest of the trip home was uneventful. Stopped at Sobeys for a few things then out to Valley. Jason was kind enough to come over and help us unload. The strangest thing was Annabelle’s reaction to being back home. She seemed shocked and disoriented to be back but after wandering around and checking things out she recovered her composure and settled back in.

All in all, it was a great week, and we had a genuinely nice time. Time to start planning for next year.
