Another beautiful day with no wind that would have been ideal for canoeing the river, but once more I spent the day on the phone and waiting for emails to resolve the financial debacle with PayPal. Remind me not to use them for AirBnB in future. 🙂 Finally, at five minutes before the bank closed the issue was resolved and the money back in my account. So we heated up a frozen lasanga and had a quiet supper in.

After supper, we decided to take a drive and do a little sightseeing. We had already gone to the end of North Black River Rd., the day before, the one that goes past the cottage, and found it ended near the Atlantic shore where once a bridge had spanned the Black River, but no more. So we crossed the river farther upstream and took a drive on South Black River Rd., which turned out to be Hwy 117. Lots of tiny fishing villages along the way and many bridges spanning other rivers and creeks prior to their flowing into the ocean. Eventually, we made our way around to Pointe Sapin, a much larger fishing village with larger wharfs and plenty of fishing boats.

After that, we passed the entrance to Kouchbouguac National Park and back onto to Hwy 11, which runs north to Miramichi. We then ventured into Napan to grab a couple of sundaes to follow up our supper. Then home to watch a couple more episodes of Party of Five and early to bed.

  1. Glad that the PayPal issue was finally resolved. Nobody needs that added stress while on their vacation. Hope you guys can now get down to truly enjoying your last couple full days of your vacation there.

  2. I never had much luck with PayPal and try not to use it. Glad you got it resolved. A vacation ain’t a vacation if you are nattering about payment. Cheers. Allan

    1. I’ve been using Paypal for years both for purchases and receiving funds from my editing clients. I don’t know who to blame for the current glitches, just happy it’s been resolved.
