Fundraising: More Important Than Ever

Posted on April 5, 2021April 5, 2021 by

As everyone knows, Covid-19 has created many problems around the world. One problem that may not come to mind immediately is fundraising. I’ve become aware of the problem through my connection with Colchester Ground Search and Rescue.

The day the shutdown happened almost all of CGSAR’s fundraising sources were shutdown as well. Even Chase the Ace in Debert, one of our main sources, was cut back considerably. We’re holding our breath in hopes the races will resume this year at Riverside Speedway, where our team usually controls the parking for a large donation to our organization.

But there’s a new fundraising source available this year in the form of a 50/50 draw. Now, not only can you donate to a very worthy cause, you also stand a chance to share in the proceeds. To make it even better you can do it all from your phone or computer. How much simpler could it be?

Believe me, those of us on the team who show up at every training night and drop everything whenever there’s a search callout appreciate your financial support as well. The opportunity to keep our equipment up to scratch and our members trained means a lot.
